Chet Gray

Chester "Chet" M Gray is a seasoned sports administrator with a career spanning several decades and multiple sports. Currently, he serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Softball Australia, a position he has held since 2013. Prior to this role, Gray spent 12 years as the General Manager of Technical & Operations for the same organization from 2001 to 2013. This long-term commitment to Softball Australia demonstrates his deep understanding of the sport and his ability to lead at the highest levels of national sporting organizations.

Gray's influence extends beyond softball and into the broader realm of sports administration in the Oceania region. Since 2005, he has held the position of Secretary-General for the Organisation of Sports Federations of Oceania, a role that underscores his expertise in regional sports governance. Additionally, he has been serving as the Secretary General of the Baseball Confederation of Oceania since 1996, highlighting his versatility across different sports and his commitment to developing sports in the Oceania region.

Before his involvement with softball, Gray had a significant career in baseball. He worked as the Competition Manager for Baseball during the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games, showcasing his ability to manage high-profile international sporting events. His baseball expertise is further evidenced by his roles as the SASI Head Baseball Coach at the South Australian Institute of Sport from 1996 to 1997 and as the AIS Head Baseball Coach for the Australian Baseball Federation from 1994 to 1996. Gray also served as the National Director of Coaching for the Australian Baseball Federation from 1986 to 1994, playing a crucial role in developing baseball at the national level.
