The Oceania Australia Foundation has created and managed a Sport Scholarship Programme for athletes Oceania – with a focus on athletes from the Pacific Islands.

2024 Scholarship Recipients
With the Oceania Athletics Regional Championships taking place at HFC Park in Suva during the first week of June, the Oceania Australia Foundation (OAF) in conjunction with Oceania National Olympic Committees (ONOC), took the opportunity to announce the athletics recipients of the Foundation Scholarships to the United States, commencing in August this year.
Scholarships for the 2024 Fall intake at Neosho College, Kansas were awarded to Rusiate Matai (Fiji), Melania Turaga (Fiji) and Vaioleta Luka (Tuvalu). The two Fijian recipients were presented with their Certificates in a ceremony at the HFC Stadium by Helen McMurray, Executive Director OAF and Inoke Bainimarama, Executive Director ONOC. A Certificate was also presented to Waisele Inoke (Fiji), a 2023 scholarship recipient, who was back home competing at the Championships after completing the first year of his scholarship at Neosho College.

The scholarship provides 2 years of tuition and sports training with accommodation on campus at selected junior colleges in the United States, integrated sports competition, an annual return economy airfare, as well as insurance and a warm clothing allowance.
Currently the Oceania Australia Foundation works with selected colleges to offer this scholarship opportunity, with your sport determining which college you will attend.
After two years you will graduate with an Associate Degree and may have the opportunity to transfer to a NCAA school for a further two years to complete your degree. Successful candidates will be recruited directly by the college coach with assistance from their junior college administration team.
